Research Study on Miscarriage Grief

I followed a link to this blog to find this research study. I'm filling in the consent forms to participate and encourage you to look into it if you meet the requirements. Here's the information:

If you have experienced a pregnancy loss (stillbirth or miscarriage) in the past 6 months to 4 years, we want to hear YOUR story. Drexel University is conducting a research study to learn how women healed and moved on from the grief of their loss.

You are eligible if you:

1. Are between the ages of 19 and 50.
2. Live in the United States
3. Identify as either White/Caucasian or Black/African American
4. Experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth any time between October, 2007, and April, 2011.

The study is confidential and secure- your identity and medical information will be not be shared with anyone outside the research team at Drexel University. Your answers will not be linked to your name or identity. The study takes approximately 30-40 minutes to complete, and can be done online or over the phone (you can choose how you want to participate).

As a "thank you," we are offering a choice of a small "care package" (of lotion, chocolate, and tea), or a Dunkin Donuts gift card (both are worth approximately $5) to women who participate. Please email us at if you are interested in volunteering for the study.

Thank you- we are looking forward to hearing from you soon.

  1. Thank you for posting this, Mat. Anna! I can't think of a better way to honor our babies memories than to provide information to help other babyloss mamas and help someone earn their educational degree at the same time! Bless you! <3

  2. I miscarried last week. My eyes are still dark, puffy, swollen, wet... I will write when I can.
Also, I have a photograph of my tiny babe who didn't develop past 7 weeks gestation- even though I was 9 weeks. Do you want the image?

  3. Linda, I'm so sorry to hear that. Please feel free to email me since I can't access your profile.

  4. Linda - so sorry to read of this loss. I hope you are finding comfort in one form or another. My heart aches with you. And, Mat. Anna, I took part in this study. I found it very involved and I was glad to be able to, once again, share about my boys. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Amanda, sadly, because I lost Andrew I wasn't able to participate in the study. I look forward to seeing the results when it is completed though.

Thank you for visiting. If you have a comment or question you are not comfortable leaving in a comment box, then feel free to e-mail me directly. We appreciate the opinions of others, but would remind you to present them with Christian charity.
